Mungkin dewasa ini nama Robby Darwis yang sudah 17 tahun lah yang paling dikenang oleh seluruh fans Persib karena menjadi yang terlama membela klub asal Kota Bandung itu.
Namun siapa sangka ternyata dibalik itu semua, ada pemain yang bisa dibilang paling setia membela klub Persib. Pemain tersebut adalah seorang defender elegant milik Persib Bandung, Dadang Hidayat.
Selain setia hanya membela satu klub sepanjang karir nya, Dadang juga setia dalam menunggu kesempatan terbaiknya. Berposisi sebagai libero, Dadang harus puas menjadi pelapis dari seorang legenda hidup Tim Persib, Robby Darwis.
Dilansir dari Indonesiaafc, sejak bergabung dengan Maung Bandung pada musim 1993, ia setidaknya butuh 6 tahun untuk tampil sebagai starter. Penantian itu tak sia-sia. Selepas Robby pensiun, pemain kelahiran 20 Agustus 1972 itu akhirnya mampu mengenakan ban kapten di seragam Pangeran Biru hingga penghujung karirnya.
Selama 12 tahun berkarir di sepak bola profesional, Dadang tercatat hanya membela satu klub. Yakni Persib semata.
Pada musim 2005, ia lebih memilih gantung sepatu ketimbang harus membela klub lain.
